What is Arthritis?

🦵Arthritis means inflammation or swelling of one or more joints.

💪It describes more than 100 conditions that affect the joints, tissues around the joint, and other connective tissues.

💪In some diseases in which arthritis occurs, other organs, such as your eyes, heart, or skin, can also be affected.

🦵People of all ages, sexes and races can and do have arthritis

💪More than 50 million adults and 300,000 children have some type of arthritis.

🦵It is most common among women and occurs more frequently as people get older.

💪Most types of arthritis cause pain and stiffness in and around the affected joint or joints.

🦵Some types of arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, also affect the immune system and some internal organs of the body.
